Gaslight by Patrick Hamilton was written in 1938. It is the story of a treacherous marriage where Mr Manningham is trying to slowly, drive his wife insane through coercive control and manipulation. It is also a 20-year-old mystery of an old woman who was murdered for her treasure. How are the two stories connected? Will there be a resolution for either of them?
